Finger Millet Halva / Duddali Recipe



Preparation Time : 15 min (Excluding 2 hours Soaking in water)
Cooking Time      : 5 min

Ingredients :

Finger Millet
रागी
1/2 cup
Grated coconut(Optional)
किसा हुआ नारियल
2 T spoon
Cardamom Powder
इलायची पाउडर
1/2 Spoon
Jaggery
गुड
3/4 Cup
Ghee
घी
2 T Spoon


Preparation:
  1. Soak finger millet in a water for 2 hours and wash well.
  2. Drain the water, add grated coconut and grind both together.
  3. Take the milk out of finger millet and coconut by adding one glass of water and grinding.
  4. Strain it to get thick milk.
  5. Repeat this process four times and collect milk of approximate four glass.
  6. Add jaggery to the milk, check the sweetness. Now transfer these mixture to a kadai.
  7. In a medium flame, keep stirring without leaving hand. After 4-5 minutes liquid turns to solid.
  8. Add cardamom powder, continue to stir further until everything gets solidified.
  9. Add 1 T Spoon of ghee and mix well. Turn off the flame.
  10. Transfer it to  plate which is greased with ghee and spread the mixture evenly.
  11. Let it cool for 30 minutes. Cut into desired shape.



Note :
  1. Add more quantity of jaggery if you require it to be more sweet.
  2. You can also add jaggery later after heating the kadai.
