Coconut Barfi / Soyye Kadi Recipe

Grated coconut
किसा हुआ नारियल
1 Cup
Grated Jaggery
कसा हुआ गुड़
1 Cup
Cardamom Powder
इलायची पाउडर
1/2 spoon
3 T Spoons
Cashew Nuts
1/4th Cup


  1. In a wide bottom pan add water and boil for 2 minutes. Add grated jaggery into water and keep stirring for about 5-7 minutes until jaggery melts.
  2. Once you get a syrup of string consistency (You can check by putting two drops of syrup into a glass of water, it should form a single string ) add grated coconut saute for 4 minutes in a medium flame.
  3. Meanwhile in a small pan heat 1 T spoon of ghee and fry cashew nuts till it turns to golden brown.
  4. Add remaining ghee, Cardamom powder and cashew nuts and saute for few minutes.
  5. Turn off the flame. In a plate put 1/2 spoon ghee and spread across. Add the mixture and spread well.
  6. Once it cools cut into a shape of your like and store in a cool place.
